SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITIES

My research interests are concerned with Artificial Intelligence and  advanced computational methods applied to complex systems.

My research activities has been funded by national and international Research Projects, in partnership with Universities, Research institutions and enterprises.

During the academic career years I coordinated the Living Networks Lab group, in the frame of the Bisp Lab (Biomedical Image and Signals Processing Lab) of the Department of Computer Science, University of Milan.

As an example of my activities, the page

describes the development of the first human electronic creature, based on human neural stem cells grown on Multielectrode arrays connected to a robotic actuator in cascade with a real-time Artificial Neural Network. The hybrid creature acts correctly in response of digital commands.
